SACRED HONOR :

INTERVIEW : The American Revolution: A History by Gordon Wood (Brian Lamb, April 21, 200, C-SPAN Booknotes)
This always excellent program was especially good tonight (it's repeated at 11 EST and available online). Gordon Wood is his generation's leading historian of the American Revolution. All of this interview is interesting but towards the end there's a timely segment where he talks about how living in Europe has made him appreciate America more. He talks about how difficult a time Europeans are having integrating immigrants into their societies and how a second generation Algerian Frenchmen is simply not considered "French" and how you can become an American by accepting an ideology but you have to have certain ancestry to be accepted into other cultures.. Highly recommended. Posted by Orrin Judd at April 21, 2002 9:30 PM
