OBLIGATORY NAZI REFERENCE:
Why Does Everyone Bow Down to the Health Insurance Industry? (Barbara Ehrenreich, September 24, 2007, AlterNet)
Bow your heads and raise the white flags. After facing down the Third Reich, the Japanese Empire, the U.S.S.R., Manuel Noriega and Saddam Hussein, the United States has met an enemy it dares not confront -- the American private health insurance industry.Posted by Orrin Judd at September 24, 2007 11:19 AM
Anything associated with profit is presumed to be evil. My first question in health care discussions with my more liberal friends is: You have to send a package that must be delivered tomorrow. Who do you choose - UPS, FedEx or US Postal Service?
If you wouldn't trust your package to the government, why would you trust your life with it?
Posted by: Rick T. at September 24, 2007 11:31 AMBecause that evil Private Health Insurance Industry allows Canadian women to give birth to identical quadruplets in Great Falls, Montana because the wonderful Public Health Insurance Industry (the Canadian Government) can't handle it.
You know, Great Falls, Montana which has a population of 56,000 people and a total of 1 Starbucks.
If they are going to Great Falls, Montana then our bench is pretty darn deep.

this is moonbattery of a sublime nature..

Barbara:
'And what about the two to three million insurance industry employees whose sole job it is to turn down claims? Well, I have a plan for them: It’s called unemployment. What country in its right mind would pay millions of people to deny other people health care?'
Barb believes this because she read it in a column by Paul Krugman..(um. OK.)
as it happens I work in the insurance business and
trust me, insurance claims adjusters are not, and cannot be, by the ethics of the industry, paid to 'deny claims'
this chick is lost in space.
