COULD HAVE SAVED A SPOT OF BOTHER BY SAYING THAT WHEN THEY WON THE ELECTION:
Hamas leader says Israel's existence is a reality (Sean Maguire and Khaled Oweis Wed Jan 10, 2007, Reuters)
Hamas acknowledges the existence of Israel as a reality but formal recognition will only be considered when a Palestinian state has been created, the movement's exiled leader Khaled Meshaal said on Wednesday.Posted by Orrin Judd at January 10, 2007 6:56 PMSoftening a previous refusal to accept the Jewish state's existence, Meshaal said Israel was a "matter of fact" and a reality that will persist.
"There will remain a state called Israel," Meshaal said in an interview in the Syrian capital, in what appeared to be clearest statement yet by the Islamist group on its attitude toward the state it previously said had no right to exist.
"The problem is not that there is an entity called Israel," said Meshaal, who survived an Israeli assassination attempt in 1997. "The problem is that the Palestinian state is non-existent."
Clarified? He said the same thing.
Posted by: oj at January 10, 2007 11:03 PMHamas denied Wednesday that its Damascus-based political leader Khaled Meshal told Reuters in an interview that his group would consider recognizing Israel once a Palestinian state is established [emphasis added]What is Hamas denying Meshal said if they said the same thing?
Here's the clarification repeated in the same article --
[Hamas government spokesman Ghazi] Hamad maintained that Meshal did not say anything about recognizing Israel [emphasis added]Hamas has always said Israel exists, because you can't destroy imaginary things. What, then, did Meshal say that should have been said after the election? Posted by: Annoying Old Guy at January 10, 2007 11:30 PM
We all hears what we wants to.
'N we all sees what we wants to.

Note that you have to cite the spin not the actual statement, a classic symptom.
In fact, Ghazi Hamad merely reiterated the prior statement: "There was no change in our stance that Hamas does not recognize Israel."
They don't recognize Israeli statehood because Israel doesn't recognize Palestinian statehood.

Note that you have to evade answering any of my questions, a classic symptom.
