TOSSING THE DROWNING MAN A LIFE PRESERVER:

Fitzgerald given way out of Libby CIA leak case (Joel Seidman, 9/21/06, NBC News)

The judge in the CIA leak case ruled Thursday that if Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald feels that admitting certain classified documents at the upcoming trial of I Lewis "Scooter" Libby can jeopardize national security, Fitzgerald can then move to dismiss the perjury charges against Libby.

Mr. Libby ought to do time for misleading investigators, but the counsel's office has humiliated itself so badly they'll likeky take the graceful way out.

Oh, please, oh, yes, please, Mr. Fitzgerald, dismiss the case! I can't wait to see the firestorm over at TruthOut ("If you wnat the truth, get out of here!") and Daily Kos and Democratic Underground when you do. It'll be worth the whole $10M you spent on the investigation just to see the moonbats lose it.

"Mr. Libby ought to do time for misleading investigators", then he ought to be given a medal for punching Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald in the mouth.

Sometimes I wonder if Fitz wasn't set up by the dems or the Combine to take him down and tarnish his rep. He was doing an outstanding job in IL and Daley and his buddies are in line to go against him.
