Hurricane forecast team downgrades expected number of hurricanes (ROBERT WELLER, September 1, 2006, Associated Press)

The Colorado State University hurricane forecast team Friday called for a slightly below-average hurricane season with only five hurricanes instead of the seven earlier forecast. It is second time in a month the team had revised downward its forecast.

And what is up with Colorado State University forecasting hurricanes? How often do they get hit with one?

And if we project this trend, next year there will be negative hurricanes. Strong winds will erect buildings, mostly mobile homes, from Texas to South Carolins.

Colorado State University has one of the country's better post-graduate schools of meteorology. (U.of Oklahoma is another one). Friend of mine from the U.of.Chicago got her Ph.D. there in that subject.
