REMEMBER WHEN WE USED TO EMPLOY PROPAGANDA AGAINST THE ENEMY?:

Reuters admits altering Beirut photo: Reuters withdraws photograph of Beirut after Air Force attack after US blogs, photographers point out 'blatant evidence of manipulation' (Yaakov Lappin, 8/06/06, Ynet)

A Reuters photograph of smoke rising from buildings in Beirut has been withdrawn after coming under attack by American web logs. The blogs accused Reuters of distorting the photograph to include more smoke and damage. [...]

Earlier, Charles Johnson, of the Little Green Footballs blog , which has exposed a previous attempt at fraud by a major American news corporation, wrote : "This Reuters photograph shows blatant evidence of manipulation. Notice the repeating patterns in the smoke; this is almost certainly caused by using the Photoshop “clone” tool to add more smoke to the image."

'Blatant manipulation:' Has this photograph been distorted? (Photo: Reuters)

Johnson added: "Smoke simply does not contain repeating symmetrical patterns like this, and you can see the repetition in both plumes of smoke. There’s really no question about it."

When one has been lying for so long, it's hard, if not impossible, to kick the habit.

There are consequences, however; and they will be far reaching. It's not a question of "if" but "when."

They also added buildings to the city.

The media allows terrorist propaganda to pass through unedited and unchecked, meanwhile information which the U.S. or Israel desires to see get out never sees the light of day.

Regarding your headline comment, "REMEMBER WHEN WE USED TO EMPLOY PROPAGANDA AGAINST THE ENEMY?", Reuters is following the tradition of employing propaganda against the enemy.

Reuters has been caught out so many times, you'd think they'd either go straight or get some better photoshoppers.

Welcome to the drive-by media. They highlighted the bombing of a UNIFIL post 2 weeks ago when Israel took it out, despite Hizbolla's use of it as a shield for its attacks. Guess what? Read the following CNN report:

"Hezbollah mortars struck the U.N. headquarters at Henniye, Lebanon, wounding three Chinese U.N. peacekeepers, said UNIFIL spokesman Milos Strugar."

WHERE ARE ALL THE SCREAMING HEADLINES NOW???

LGF has been down for several hours now. DDOS underway, or Charles is getting lots of traffic.

"REMEMBER WHEN WE USED TO EMPLOY PROPAGANDA AGAINST THE ENEMY?"

From Reuters' POV, they are.

It's like the Good Ol' Days when the credulous would believe everything the SovUnion would put out, from production figures to maps to medical updates on their leadership. But not only do we have useful idiots willingly believing serial liars, but at the same time these same idiots are screaming "conspiracy! cover-up!" over any and all information coming out of the US gov't. This must be what the beginning of a new Dark Age is like.

(Speaking of medical updates: I haven't heard, but have the Castro brothers stable conditions been upgraded to "dead" yet?)

Turns out this "fake" photographer is the same one who took the staged pix at Qana where 56 people died after an Israeli bombing - oops, that's recently been updated to 26 deaths.

This all smells to high heaven - roto-reuters is full of manure. They've been caught red-handed at last.

Also, a death threat was emailed to Charles of LIttle Green Footballs - from a Reuter's email address!!!

One employee has been suspended - not fired!

Since truth means less than nothing to those people, there is no point in talking. By their lies they have made words meaningless. Strike, and strike again.

Israel understands this, it appears. We still hold out hope the the United States does likewise.

Have you boys forgotten your school lessons? There is no absolute truth.

Postmodernism hadn't yet arrived in Burlington, NJ when I was still in school... ;)

Lucky, but watch out for your kids.

The next photo I saw on Reuters was the city of Beruit with one hand holding onto a white shark jumping out of the water and the other hand holding a Mountain Dew. It sure looks real but I just don't know what to believe these days.
