AUSTRALIAN cricket has endured its darkest day, with two scandals hitting the national side a few hours after it suffered one of its worst defeats on record.
The world champion cricketers were left embarrassed and shocked after their stunning defeat at the hands of Bangladesh on Saturday.Last night, Andrew Symonds was slapped with a two-match ban after being dumped for turning up to the match drunk following a night out with teammates.
And Shane Warne has yet again become embroiled in another sex scandal, with claims of a night of passion with a 25-year-old woman in London.
The Australians were still reeling from their five-wicket loss to Bangladesh, considered by many to be unworthy of international status, as they took on England last night.

Posted by: Ali Choudhury at June 19, 2005 8:09 PMAustralia actually looked better against England yesterday. Took a ridiculous knock from Kevin Pieterson in the final overs to beat them. But the Aussies ain't getting any younger and their bowling is starting to look a little too gentle. That's why they couldn't stop Pieterson when the game was on the line.
They've got another one-dayer against England this Thursday. Lose that one and things could get unbelievably ugly, as if they weren't nasty enough already.
