RINSE, LATHER, REPEAT:
Gorbachev Honors Stevens With Peace Prize (ANGELA DOLAND, 11/10/04, Associated Press)
Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev honored the singer once known as Cat Stevens with a peace prize on Wednesday, praising him for charity work and for standing by his convictions despite personal hardships.Posted by Orrin Judd at November 10, 2004 10:58 AMYusuf Islam was awarded the "Man for Peace" award in Rome at the opening of a meeting of Nobel Peace Prize laureates. He last made headlines in September, when he turned up on Washington's no-fly list for having suspected ties to terrorists - a claim he has strongly denied.
While he's in Rome, don't be surprised to see the Vatican socialists give him a similar award while denouncing the U.S. opression of Iraq.

Since the Vatican has been anti-American since forever, that would not be a surprise. Yusuf Islam is a man who has given money to Hamas and Islamic Jihad, organizations which encourage the murder of Jews and Americans. It would be amazing if the Catholic Church didn't give him their highest award, perhaps even offering up his name for canonization.

Posted by: Jim S at November 10, 2004 12:42 PMThe last time he ran for the Presidency of Russia, he got a rousing one-half of one percent of the vote, about as well as Carter would do here.
Posted by: Bart at November 10, 2004 12:47 PMPerhaps Clinton could bad mouth Bush this year and win the Peace prize for himself. It'd be a nice addition to the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor opening soon.
Not a word on the nets tonight about moving the homeless out of Little Rock before the world zooms in on bubba's home-away-from-home. Full size reproduction of the Oval Office. Mind boggling.
