THE CREEPING COUP:

Inching Toward Elections, Palestinians Begin Voter Registration (STEVEN ERLANGER, 9/04/04, NY Times)

Palestinians began a voter registration drive on Saturday, a first step toward long overdue elections and a response to domestic and international pressure for more democracy, openness and accountability.

By international pressure he means George W. Bush, who two and half years ago made it clear that it will be Liberty's Century in Palestine too, no matter how long it takes to dawn.

I wonder if Hugo Chavez will be elected there too.

I have my doubts about the outcome of any 'democratic elections' in Palestine.

You have to admit that Yasser Arafat's campaign slogan is quite effective.

'VOTE FOR ME OR I'LL KILL YOU'
