SLOW LEARNERS:

Pakistan gets serious in fighting terror (Anwar Iqbal, 8/9/2004, UPI)

Pakistan has redoubled its campaign against dangerous extremists by pursuing people it trained for covert operations in Afghanistan and Kashmir. [...]

Information Minister Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad said the government was still searching for four or five other suspects linked to the jihadi groups.

"All these groups are linked to each other and they are a greater threat to Pakistan than to any other country," said the minister.

This exactly was the message the United States and other members of the international alliance have been trying to send to Pakistan since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks but without much success.

Fortunately it is a lesson that al Qaeda helped us to teach them.
