AIR GUNS :

What if gunless pilots went on strike? : Pressure mounts for allowing firearms in cockpits (Mandi Steele, May 24, 2002, WorldNetDaily.com)
A leader of the Airline Pilots' Security Alliance says he personally opposes a strike to force the government to allow firearms in the cockpits, but he has heard rumblings about the possibility from others.

Fine, fire them. I don't mind giving these guys stun guns or something, but giving them guns just seems stupid. We've had, what, one successful hijacking in twenty years? This is just a typical overreaction, made worse by the Right's doctrinaire gun ideology. You can almost guarantee that the first time a pilot pulls a gun, it'll be used on an annoying passenger and then the recriminations will start all over again.
