NO ONE BELIEVES IN SPECIES ANYMORE (via B):

Neanderthals were separate species, new study finds (AFP, 5/04/08)

Neanderthals were a separate species to Homo sapiens, as anatomically modern humans are known, rather than offshoots of the same species, the new organigram published Sunday by the journal Nature declares. [...]

[N]eanderthals are declared "chronological variants inside a single biological heritage," in other words, evolutionary cousins but still a separate species from us. [...]

On the other hand, the Neanderthals are declared "chronological variants inside a single biological heritage," in other words, evolutionary cousins but still a separate species from us.

While it's always amusing that Darwinists imagine that the species of things changes just because they rejigger their charts, this instance represents an especially damaging blow to the concept of species. Grant them their wish to separate Neanderthal and humans early in the process and the ease with which the two "species" crossbred leaves nothing of the notion of species.

The existence of dawn and dusk do not disprove the reality of night and day.

Bingo! Night and day are subjective fictions as well.

Your brief inability to see the sun does not mean it went out.

Well, Mr. Geocentric Universe, suddenly you go all objective when it suits you, eh?

"Species" etc. are only fictions in the sense that our limited human vocabularies don't always precisely match the real world. The map is not the territory, but that doesn't mean all maps are mere "fiction." A map of Middle Earth may be, but it's Jesuitical hairsplitting (or PoMo silliness) to claim that USGS maps are equivalently fictitious.

All life on Earth has differences and similarities. Taxonomy isn't perfectly neat, but neither is the periodic table of elements.

Yet to be discovered, why are the surviving Neanderthals found on or around hockey rinks.

Taxonomy is fiction. It's all subjective.

The periodic table is based on actual measurements.

However, the central insight of physics is that Creation is subjective. Man is the subject.

There are lots of objective measurements that distinguish dogs from ducks.
