DON'T YOU PEOPLE HAVE HOBBIES?

Ref: brothersjudd.com

Stephen,

We were forced to disable your MoveableType comments script(oj-comments.cgi) just now because it was causing very high CPU load on the webserver your site is running on. This is a known issue with older versions of MoveableType. We would ask that you either upgrade to the latest version of MoveableType, or consider using our free Wordpress blog service:
http://hostmysite.com/hosting/blog/

Please just let us know if you have any questions regarding this. Have a good day!

Regards,
Paul Meserve

The upgrade is complete, and comments should be working now.

We've just released Movable Type 3.2, which should do a much better job of handling spam comments and TrackBacks without causing excess server load. It's a free update and has over 100 other new features that make it worth upgrading, in addition to keeping your web host happy. :)

Yah right. the server couldn't handle the strain. Yeah, the server, that's the ticket.

Thanks, fellas.

Without the comments, brothersjudd is like heroin without the needle.

How come the comments post won't remember my name and address?

Mine either, I'll ask the Other Brother.

I'm still getting ready to upgrade myself, but the spam handling seems to finally have become at least as good as it was in 2.64 so it's finally time to move on. I'll need to update my personal anti-spam tools to work with it, though.

I'll also note that category archives are quite expensive, even without comment spam.

I've noticed that it is impossible to highlight a small portion of text to copy and paste. When I try to capture a small amount of text, it highlights the entire page or a large portion of it. Any clues why this is happening?

It's an effect of the style here and IE. I never had the energy to track it down, I just use a different browser.

Netscape 7.2 cuts & pastes OK.
