Well, if 'The Passion...' were to generate $ 200 million at the box office, I suspect that Hollywood would take notice.

They probably wouldn't make many good films, but they'd make plenty of "religious" films.

Cf. the decade or so after "The Ten Commandments"; that was the era of Biblical sword-and-sandal-and-silk blockbusters like "Solomon and Sheba", "The Greatest Story Ever Told", "Land Of the Pharaohs", "Esther and the King", "Cleopatra", et al.
