THE FORGETTING MAN:
CBS Forgets to Tell the Truth (Michael Reagan, Oct 31, 2003, Human Events)
They want to talk about his forgetfulness, but he never forgot the people of this country. He gave us all a tax break, created 19 million new jobs, and restored our faith in ourselves. He never forgot the hostages in Iran, who were freed the day that he was sworn in as President. He never forgot the suffering people behind the Iron Curtain, living in squalor and poverty and under the gun for all those many years. He did everything he could to free them.
And he never forgot who he was, and where he had come from. He remembered being poor. He remembered struggling.
The important things he needed to know he never forgot.
Even the "worst" moment of his presidency was a function of his empathy for others' suffering: IranContra was about freeing Americans held hostage in Lebanon and about freeing the people of Nicaragua from Communist tyranny. It may have been unwise as policy--though we'd argue otherwise--but there was no shame in it. Posted by Orrin Judd at October 31, 2003 3:01 PM
He sure forgot the suffering of the European Jews. Actually, since he sat out World War II in favor of bedding starlets in Culver City, he never really knew enough to forget.
But at Bitberg he refused to be educated.

Posted by: OJ at November 1, 2003 5:28 PMAt Bitberg, he showed he did not have the slightest understanding of what the crimes of Germany were or who committed them, or even whom they were committed against.
He was an ignorant fool, which is OK in a movie actor but dangerous in a politician.
