CONSERVATIVE TRIUMPH MUST BE NEAR ...
... when Cambridge, Massachusetts honors the BrothersJudd blog:
What the heck is that?
Posted by: oj at October 21, 2003 11:03 PMIs calling us square an honour?
Posted by: M Ali Choudhury at October 22, 2003 5:17 AMNot quite the unequivocally fulsome praise Harry got, is it? Is this your five minutes of fame, Orrin?
Posted by: Peter B at October 22, 2003 6:28 AMIn Boston they call intersections "squares." This is the name of the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Bigelow St., just outside of City Hall, Cambridge. Intersection-naming gives the politicians a chance to honor campaign contributors, relatives, mobsters, murder victims, and other laudable public figures.
No, it's not quite the honor Harry received, but hey, we have to take what we can get.

How do you know it's not the equivalent of the magazine cover curse?
Posted by: Annoying Old Guy at October 22, 2003 8:30 AMAOG - You think those Cambridge Democrats might know what they're doing, eh? I consider that unlikely.
Posted by: pj at October 22, 2003 9:09 AMAlso, AOG, if your theory is correct, why is there no "New York Yankees Square" in Cambridge? Cambridge has bigger fish to fry than the BrothersJudd.
Posted by: pj at October 22, 2003 9:48 AMWhy scare quotes around "brothers"?
Posted by: Harry Eagar at October 23, 2003 3:56 PMHarry - Well, you would have to ask the Cambridge City Council. I don't know which Judd "Brothers" they were trying to honor -- in truth, likely not those behind this blog.
